Vasso Karapatsakis
The lawyer you will actually be talking to.
Vasso Law is a small practice on Ford Road in Canton. There is no intake department and no associate the file gets handed to.

Vasso Karapatsakis graduated from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and is licensed to practice law in Michigan. He represents clients in Wayne County courts in the two areas of law where the stakes are personal rather than commercial: what happens to a family, and what happens to a record.
Those two things look unrelated until you have done both. In each one the client is a person who did not choose to be in a courtroom, facing a process built for the convenience of the system rather than for them. Most of the work is translation: what the filing means, what the judge is actually deciding, what the other side is likely to do next, and which of the things keeping you up at night are worth worrying about.
The practice is deliberately small. That is the trade: he does not have the volume of a firm with fifteen lawyers, and in exchange your case does not get passed down to whoever is available. When you call the number on this website, it rings his phone.

Is he experienced enough?
It is a fair thing to ask, and worth answering directly rather than burying under a page of adjectives.
This is not a thirty-year practice, and he will not pretend otherwise. What it is instead is a concentrated one. The same courthouses, the same judges, the same prosecutors and opposing counsel, the same motions filed the same way. Family and district court work is local before it is anything else, and knowing how a particular courtroom actually runs on a Tuesday morning is worth a great deal.
The other half of the answer is the 116 reviews people have left about working with him, which is a more useful measure than a number of years. And if a matter genuinely needs someone with different experience, he will say so on the first call rather than take the retainer.

What he takes, and what he does not.
A short list is a feature. These are the matters he is in front of a judge on regularly.
- Divorce
- Child Custody & Parenting Time
- High-Asset Divorce
- Child Support
- Criminal Defense
- OWI & Drunk Driving
- Traffic Tickets & License Points
If what you need is outside this list, call anyway. He would rather point you to the right person than have you keep searching.
“Vasso, K handled my custody case, and no amount of words can truly express how grateful I am. His cross-examination skills were exceptional, and his attention to detail was remarkable. He demonstrated an impressive understanding of the law and navigated the case with precision and strategy. Beyond his intelligence, what stood out the most was his sincerity and dedication to both his profession and his clients. I wholeheartedly wish him and all his clients continued success.”
